About the Book
This book is intended primarily as an introductory text for policy makers, legal drafters, student of law, development studies and natural resource governance. It is hoped that researchers, legal practitioners, judges and the ordinary reader will also find it useful.
A conscious effort has been made in every part to provide an appraisal so as to produce a concise work suitable for the needs of the above mentioned target group.

About the Author
Muhammed Tawfiq Ladan, Ph.D is a Professor of Law with thirty years (1987 – 2017) working experience in teaching, research, supervision and mentoring, at the Department of Public Law, Faculty of Law, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State, Nigeria. Lead National Technical Expert in Drafting Nigeria’s Periodic Country Human Rights Reports and Member Nigerian Delegation to the UN CEDAW and UN CRC Committees’ sessions and to the African Human Rights Commission Sessions (2002 – 2017). Hubert Humphrey Fellow, USA. Member, World Jurist Association, USA, and IUCN Academy and Commission on Environmental Law. Currently on Sabbatical Leave as Director, Legal Support Services at the National Institute for Legislative Studies, National Legislative Assembly, Abuja, Nigeria (2017 – 2018).
